Great Italian food

Let me say first, I came in with a prejudice and high expectations that the food would be great because I took a class last year taught by Chef Shawn. That being said, the food was sooooo much more than I hoped. Delicious. Hot. The portions were huge. The staff is great. The atmosphere is festive. We truly enjoyed ourselves and the meal. Scarcella's thanks for a great dinner on our anniversary!

Since when do you not get a salad with a pasta dinner? I asked for just a little ice in my drink and I got almost a full glass of lce ! My teeth are cold sensitive so I couldn't drink it. The pasta sauce was bland, had to use a lot of cheese.

First place for dinner when back home from St Louis. It is as good as the picture shows. Yum!

THEE absolute best homemade Italian food in the whole greater Youngstown area. It's a must stop every time I come back in to town to visit. The owners and the family are super hospitable too!

Excellent food, eat here often. Owners friendly, have a way of making you feel special. My favorites are lasagna, cavatelli, fish on Fridays, manicotti...but EVERYTHING is good!!! ❤

This place is pretty authentic, and I guess it's really good for the area, but I still think there could be some improvement , but it is Youngstown so I guess no complaints. It'll show up there at the bread is from a bag and sometimes it is not fresh. I just think it has a lot of potential and I'm not complaining but it definitely is not 5 stars. It's surrounded by bad restaurants, so it is the best one to choose from. Wendy's is nasty Popeyes and Burger King sucks, the gyro place is disgusting, so this is what makes them stand out. They should have their own fresh bread and for take out they should automatically give you spoons Fork and napkins without having to ask. I had to ask for parmesan cheese to put on my spaghetti without them putting it in the bag automatically. It happened on more than two occasions.

It was very good. The waitress was very courteous and efficient. Loved it all.

When we are in the area, we try to stop. Cute, clean, excellent food, friendly staff. Been there since 1957, they have to be doing it right.

Descent food, not nearly as good as a few other Italian restaurants around Youngstown though ( Salvatore's or even Olive Garden) the customer service is okay, seating is absolutely uncomfortable. Unless you're built like a ballerina, it's gonna be a tough dining experience for you.. again, not awful experience and the food was okay, but sitting in a crammed dining area on metal chairs in shoulder to shoulder, trying to enjoy dinner, wasn't exactly my idea of a pleasant dining experience.

Scarsella's Restaurant is a third generation Italian restaurant that has wonderful authenic homemade dishes( including the best Italian greens). This family represents what family is all about.

The food here is great and the service was good. My only concern is the price of the food considering the smaller sized portions. I continue to eat here but only very occasionally because of the cost.

Food was really good. However, $9 only gets you 3 raviolis and a meatball. No salad or soup. Over priced in my opinion.

Love the food. However, cashier gentleman on days and the other cashiers need to smile and not treat customers like they are a bother. It's good food but poor customer service from those at front counter can ruin the entire experience and makes me think twice about dining here.

Easily the best restaurant within 6 hours in all directions. I've had the best in Chicago and New York in terms of Italian restaurants yet Scarsella's on Market St in Youngstown is the undisputed winner. My grandparents, who are not from the valley, no longer try to take me to Italian restaurants when I visit them in Chicago after I took them here. Highly recommend!!!

First time we went customer service and food were great. Second time we went and last time we will go, waitress was nasty and customer service was awful. Food was no where near as good as first time. I work in customer service and talk to alot of people each day. Will not recommend.

36 Years.... I have lived in this area for 36 years, and somehow managed to completely miss this joint . Ended up stopping in on a whim , I wanted pasta , the usual places seemed packed .... fate lead me to this moment. We walk in and are seated quickly the place seems busy , but our server ( Sierra) is over in no time . Wife and I order the " world famous lemon lime sweet tea" , it is fantastic. I notice home made pasta on the menu , easy choice add a wedding soup. The soup arrives and is easily an 8 out of 10 . The pasta shows up straight 10 I have read a few reviews on here complaining about price and seating etc... Ignore them as the the ramblings of someone who thinks olive garden is edible . The service was top notch . Every person we interacted with was genuinely kind and happy to see us . Great food great people .
